1. Interpretation & Variation

1.1 The company providing our services is Modern Way Piano Ltd (referred to in these terms as “Modern Way Piano”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

1.2 Our registered address is Forma House, 40 Bowling Green Lane, London, United Kingdom, EC1R 0NE.

1.4 We offer piano lessons at our Kensington studio, at students' homes (where available), and online.

1.5 If you use our services, create an account, or purchase a subscription, you agree to be legally bound by these terms. We may update them from time to time by posting a revised version on our website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

1.6 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

1.7 Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of your relationship with us.

2. Registration & Use of Services

2.1 To register and use our online booking and account services, you must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.

2.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

2.3 Students under 18 may use our services with the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on the student's behalf.

2.4 You confirm that you are physically able to participate in piano lessons and that you have disclosed any relevant health conditions that may affect your participation. Our teachers provide musical instruction only — not medical advice. Consult a medical professional if you are unsure whether lessons are suitable for you.

2.5 We reserve the right to refuse registration, decline bookings, or terminate access to our services at our discretion, including where information provided is inaccurate or conduct is inappropriate.

3. Subscription Plans & Payment

3.1 We offer monthly subscription plans that include a set number of 50-minute lessons per billing period. Current plans and prices are published on our Book Online page and may be updated from time to time.

3.2 Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, our payment provider. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your chosen payment method until you cancel in accordance with these terms.

3.3 Plans are personal to the account holder, non-transferable, and may not be shared. Lesson credits included in a plan must be used within the current billing period unless otherwise stated.

3.4 If you use all included lessons before your next billing date, you may renew your plan early through your account. Early renewal charges the full plan price for a new billing period starting immediately, and your next billing date moves forward accordingly.

3.5 Drop-in or one-off lessons, where offered, are subject to availability and separate pricing as shown on our website.

3.6 We do not store your full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by Stripe in accordance with their terms and privacy policy.

4. Booking, Rescheduling & Cancellation of Lessons

4.1 Lessons are booked through your online account from your remaining lesson balance. New bookings require at least 24 hours' notice before the lesson start time.

4.2 Each lesson is 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.3 Rescheduling. You may reschedule a booked lesson through your account subject to the following:

• The new time must be at least 24 hours in the future.
• The new time must fall within 14 days of the lesson's original booked date.
• Each lesson may be rescheduled by you up to two times. Further changes require contact with your teacher.

4.4 Early cancellation (more than 24 hours before). If you cancel a lesson more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, the lesson is returned to your remaining balance and is not counted as used.

4.5 Late cancellation (within 24 hours). Lessons within 24 hours of the start time cannot be cancelled through your account. Please contact your teacher if you need assistance. Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice, or failing to attend without notice, counts as a used lesson with no refund or reschedule.

4.6 No-shows. If you miss a lesson without prior notice, we are unable to offer a refund, credit, or make-up lesson.

4.7 We may need to change lesson times, teachers, or locations due to availability or operational reasons. Where practicable we will give reasonable notice and offer an alternative slot.

5. Pausing & Cancelling Your Plan

5.1 Pausing. You may request to pause your subscription for up to two weeks. Pause requests must be made at least 5 days before your next billing date by contacting us at info@modernwaypiano.com. While paused, no new lessons may be booked and your next billing date will be adjusted accordingly. We cannot guarantee your preferred lesson slot will remain available after a pause longer than two weeks.

5.2 Cancelling your plan. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account billing portal or by contacting us. To avoid the next monthly charge, cancellation must be requested at least 5 days before your next billing date. Cancellations requested after this window may result in one final payment, after which your plan will not renew.

5.3 Any lessons already paid for at the time of cancellation may be used until the end of your current billing period. Unused lessons expire after that date and are not refundable.

5.4 Except where required by applicable law, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable.

6. Health, Safety & Conduct

6.1 You participate in lessons at your own risk. Piano practice involves physical activity and the use of instruments and equipment. You are responsible for ensuring your learning environment (including at home) is safe and suitable.

6.2 You agree to treat teachers, staff, and other clients with respect, to arrive on time, and to follow reasonable studio or lesson guidelines communicated to you.

6.3 We may suspend or terminate your access if you behave abusively, disruptively, or in a way that puts others at risk.

7. Liability

7.1 We cannot guarantee any particular teacher, time slot, or learning outcome. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to schedules, teachers, or facilities without liability, except where such loss cannot be excluded by law.

7.2 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

7.3 Subject to clause 7.2, we accept no liability for loss or damage to personal property, or for indirect or consequential losses including loss of profit, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of our services.

7.4 We are not responsible for personal belongings left at our studio or a lesson venue. Please take care of your possessions during lessons.

7.5 To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that your participation in lessons is voluntary and that you release Modern Way Piano Ltd from claims arising from ordinary risks of musical instruction, except where caused by our negligence.

8. Intellectual Property & Materials

8.1 Course materials, teaching methods (including Modern Way Piano™), website content, and branding remain our intellectual property or that of our licensors.

8.2 You may use materials provided to you for personal learning only. You may not copy, distribute, or commercially exploit them without our written permission.

9. General

9.1 If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

9.2 Our failure to enforce any right under these terms does not waive that right.

9.3 These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any plan-specific information published on our website, constitute the entire agreement between you and Modern Way Piano Ltd regarding our services.
